Dottie Fisher

Dottie’s design career began in Boston, MA where she attended The School of Practical Art and later worked as the Accessory Buyer and Visual Merchandiser for a fine home furnishings store in Milford, CT selecting softgoods, lighting, folliage, artwork, and accessories for the store as well as individual clients.

She became involved with Ethan Allen in 1981 and attended Ethan Allen College and later studied interior design with Suzanne Weiner, IIDA, IDS, IDEC.  She continues her education by attending ongoing design seminars.

Design Philosophy

For over 30 years she has been involved in creating homes for people to live in, working both as a designer and decorator of home furnishing collections with Ethan Allen. Every project presents a different challenge and her work as a designer is constantly evolving as tastes change and new products are developed.

"I think a well-designed house is a combination of comfort, practicality, and good looks. Using my patience and expertise, I develop my clients’ hopes and dreams into reality to create a comfortable home that reflects the interests and lives of each of the people who live there while following sound principles of design."

Dottie works with clients all over the United States, most west of Texas. Contact us for more information.

Deborah is more than a designer; she's an Artist of Life who can creatively weave together random interests and events in a client's life to create a true home. Budgetary constraints don't stifle her creativity in the least. "It's easy to fill a room with exquisite, expensive furnishings where each piece is a work of art. The challenge comes when you have to create beauty from next to nothing," she says. This is where her magic begins.

She has worked for top home interiors companies and, in her private design practice since 1995, has created interior and exterior color schemes, interior decor, and window treatments for hundreds of homes of every conceivable style, size and price from California to Florida.

Her additional research in the fields of psychology and the science of color, combined with a well-developed sense of intuition and Feng Shui principles, gives her a unique approach to formulating custom color schemes and room layouts.

Her intuition is usually right on the money, but sometimes it takes the world a little longer to catch up. She was interviewed for a design trends article in 1999 for the San Jose Mercury News where she forecasted the soothing marine blues and greens that are finally becoming popular.

Debi serves on the Architectural Review Board for a large, deed-restricted residential community in Seminole County, Florida and for her "creative outlet" she sews home-dec items and Custom Children's Clothing, and takes candid portrait Candid Portraits to give as gifts to friends and loved ones.
